John Gunnell

John Gunnell was born in Staten Island, N.Y. After dreaming of becoming a car designer, Gunnell began writing free-lance articles about classic cars.

Employed at Krause Publications since 1978, Gunnell is past editor of Old Cars Weekly and is currently automotive books editor, writing an average of eight books per year for the company (50+ total). His recent books include the Standard Guide to British Sports Cars, Standard Guide to 1950s American Cars, Muscle Car Field Guide, American Supercars 1960-2000, Standard Catalog of Buick 1903-2004 and ³Standard Catalog of Volkswagen 1946-2005. He lives in Iola, Wis. And maintains a fleet of collector vehicles including a 1952 MG TD and a 1954 MG TF.
