Zora lived at least three lifetimes before he even arrived at GM at the age of 43 in 1953, and it was easy to understand why the quintessential "maverick" genius chafed under the Byzantine corporate culture at GM. In spite of that, Zora managed to create some sensational cars and make some beautiful noise during his reign. And though Duntov"s refusal to play even the tiniest bit of politics cost him dearly over his GM career, his impact on the Corvette and his brilliant engineering work will endure for generations to come.
